Industrial Competitiveness in a Decarbonising Europe

European industry is entering a decisive phase of transformation. High energy costs, intensifying global competition, evolving clean-tech supply chains, and accelerating decarbonisation are reshaping the foundations of industrial competitiveness in Europe.

In this context, competitiveness is no longer defined solely by cost efficiency, scale or productivity. It increasingly depends on energy strategy, electrification pathways, supply chain resilience, market design, and the ability to translate decarbonisation into long-term industrial value.

This masterclass provides a strategic overview of the forces shaping European industrial transformation. It connects key policy developments such as the Clean Industrial Deal, emerging proposals around an Industrial Accelerator Act, and evolving “Made in EU” and low-carbon criteria with the realities of global clean-tech competition and the position of energy-intensive industries.

The programme is organised in collaboration with CIFE Future Energy Leaders, bringing together professionals, policymakers and emerging energy leaders in a setting focused on exchange, reflection and strategic insight into Europe’s industrial future.
