Academic and industry experts take you on an intensive three-day tour of the exciting new world of hydrogen. You will learn all about how hydrogen can be produced, transported, stored and used in various applications such as heating and transport. The pros, cons and risks of hydrogen will be discussed, considering the latest developments in technology, industry and policy, and the critical decisions that need to be taken to realise hydrogen’s potential. By the end of this course, you are fully up to speed in a field that will offer many opportunities for decades to come.

After this course, you will be able to:
- Understand the hydrogen market, its role, and future potential in the energy transition.
- Describe hydrogen production methods, including the different colors (grey, blue, green).
- Evaluate hydrogen transport, storage, and distribution challenges and solutions in the European context.
- Assess the role of hydrogen in different applications including industry, transport, power and housing.
- Analyze the economic, technical, and geopolitical factors shaping the hydrogen value chain.
- Examine hydrogen policies, legislation, and financial opportunities for scaling the hydrogen industry.
- Apply knowledge of hydrogen technologies to real-world cases like the European Hydrogen Backbone.
- Experience and analyze the hydrogen ecosystem through case studies and site visits at key locations.
What’s included in the Intensive Course Hydrogen
As part of this programme, you’ll receive one year of access to all course materials through our dedicated Online Learning Platform, allowing you to revisit key content whenever you need it. Upon completion, you’ll be awarded a digital certificate of participation, which can easily be added to your LinkedIn profile to showcase your achievement.
Each course day includes a well-catered lunch and on two evenings we will take the group for a casual evening programme including dinner, offering time to connect informally with fellow participants and some of the lecturers.
Prof. Manfred Hafner, from John Hopkins University and Sciences Po and president at HEAS AG/SA is the key lecturer for this programme. He will be joined by other academics and industry experts for guest lectures each day. And a unique site visit will also be included in the course.
