Energy Delta Institute works with over 150 international guest lecturers who form a unique mixture of academic specialists and industry experts. 

We work closely with a group of professors and industry experts in various fields who guarantee the academic quality of our programmes as well as with a number of industry experts who ensure that our programmes are always relevant to what is happening in the real world. In fact, our programmes combine the best of two worlds: our professors are often involved in business and our industry experts have a solid academic background.

Yanos Michopoulos

Dr Yanos Michopoulos is one of the greatest authorities in the gas world. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of DESFA, the newly privatised gas transmission operator in Greece. Next to that he is active as expert and ambassador for Energy Delta Institute, works with the UK’s Institute of Directors and other training organisation as leadership course leader, mentor, coach, and guest speaker for MBA and executive education.

With a PhD in Physics (Durham University) and over 30 years of senior international experience in various energy and related sectors, including oil & gas, renewables, infrastructure, shipping, and private equity, Yanos has a wide variety of expertise. He has led major change projects, including major organisational and cultural transformations, financial and performance turnarounds, introduction of new products and services, and new market entries. He has led, mentored, and coached large and diverse teams, operating across different functions, and distributed in various locations, countries, and cultures.

Alexander Van de Putte

Alexander Van de Putte is Member of the Board of The National Investment Corporation of the National Bank, Kazakhstan. His professional career includes executive positions at the Kazakhstan Development Bank, the World Economic Forum, Shell, PwC and McKinsey. Alexander Van de Putte is also Professor of Strategic Foresight at IE Business School, and Co-Director of the Master of Energy & Sustainability Leadership programme at the Graduate Institute in Geneva.

Ad van Wijk

Ad van Wijk is sustainable energy entrepreneur and Professor of Future Energy Systems at Technical University Delft, the Netherlands. His research focuses on hydrogen and fuel cell cars. He is also involved in building new energy systems at “the Green Village” on the campus of TU Delft.

Albert van den Noort

Dr Albert van den Noort is senior consultant at the international energy consultancy DNV. He has a background in chemical engineering and applied physics. He specialises in hydrogen, smart energy systems, scientific modelling and simulations, and smart grids. Prior to joining DNV, he worked as a researcher at Gasunie.

Peter Hendrickx

Peter Hendrickx has been active in the automotive industry for almost thirty years. He has extensive experience in the (business) development of LNG and CNG fuelling stations. From 2010 until 2017, he was Senior Operations Manager at Rolande LNG in the Netherlands. With his assistance Rolande LNG managed to become Europe’s biggest operator of LNG fuelling stations.

Kostas Andriosopoulos

Kostas Andriosopoulos is the Executive Director of the Research Centre for Energy Management at ESCP Europe Business School where he holds the position of full Professor in Finance and Energy Economics. He is also the Academic Director of the Executive Masters in Energy Management (EMEM) programme at ESCP. In addition to his academic profile he has extensive experience in the business world.

Robert Kleiburg

Robert Kleiburg, MSc, was Chief Operations Officer at the Netherlands Energy Research Center (ECN) from 2011 to 2017. In 2017 he founded his own company, Recoy, whose mission is to accelerate the energy transition by helping customers increase their energy flexibility. Before he worked at Shell for 22 years, including as VP Strategy and Planning at Shell Renewables & Hydrogen.

Tatiana Mitrova

Tatiana Mitrova is Senior Energy Expert, Independent Director and Mentor. She is Research Fellow at the Center on Global Energy Policy. She has thirty years of experience in dealing with global and FSU energy markets development and a strong expertise in energy transition – new energy technologies, market organization, corporate strategies and geopolitical consequences. She also has a profound knowledge of Russian and FSU energy markets.

Catrinus Jepma

Catrinus Jepma is one of New Energy Coalition’s energy experts and professor of Energy and Sustainability at the University of Groningen. His field of expertise is energy policy and markets, environmental impact and policy issues, energy efficiency measures and energy technologies. Thanks to his years of involvement as (coordinating) lead author of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), professor Jepma received a personalised certificate for his share in the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to the IPCC in 2007.
