The Advisory Board supports the strategic development of the New Energy Business School. Its members bring perspectives from industry, government, academia, and business, and advise on executive education, market developments, and the position of the New Energy Business School in an evolving energy landscape.
The Advisory Board meets annually to provide strategic reflection and guidance. In their senior advisory role, members share insights that help inform NEBS’s programmes and contribute to its long-term direction, drawing on additional external perspectives and expertise
About the board members
Bert Stuij Senior Expert
Bert Stuij (MSc) is a Senior Expert at our Business School and Manager of National Programs/Energy at the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). Stuij contributes to our programme development and education with a specific focus on the energy transition. At RVO, he is responsible for policies related to renewable energy, energy efficiency, and energy innovation. In 2022, he was part of the 2050 Energy Systems Expert Team at the Ministry of Climate and Energy of the Dutch government. Previously, Stuij worked in the private sector for Shell, and in various semi-public organizations (Novem) and government agencies (SenterNovem, AgentschapNL). Bert is member of the committee on Energy Research and Technology of the International Energy Agency (IEA).
Patrick Cnubben is a visionary in hydrogen energy, driving sustainable solutions with over two decades of experience. As the mind behind Hydrogen Architects and the esteemed ambassador of the New Energy Business School, Patrick specializes in developing Hydrogen Valleys to power energy transitions and stimulate regional economic growth.
With expertise in crafting hydrogen strategies, Patrick’s work spans onto diverse sectors: industry, transport, maritime, and aviation. His focus on innovation and investment positions him as a pivotal figure in connecting stakeholders and integrating advanced hydrogen technologies.
From the heart of Europe’s first Hydrogen Valley, Patrick, and his team at Hydrogen Architects are at the forefront of creating a cleaner, greener future.
Jörg Gigler is Managing Director at TKI New Gas, he has worked on the theme of sustainability for over 20 years, with the focus in the last 12 years on the interaction between sustainability and gas. He has held various positions as a manager in gas consultancy (DNV, Gasunie), at Energy Valley and NL Agency (predecessor RVO) as a consultant, and as a researcher at universities and research institutes.
Ruud de Jongh Vice President Gas and Hydrogen Partnerships
Ruud de Jongh is a member of the Advisory Board of our Business School and Vice President Gas and Hydrogen Partnerships at Shell Nederland. In his role, De Jongh is responsible for advancing gas and hydrogen partnerships in the Netherlands, contributing to the energy transition with a strong focus on the development of green hydrogen and collaborative initiatives.
De Jongh joined Shell in 1988 as a geologist and has since held various senior positions in the Netherlands and abroad, including assignments in Nigeria and Madagascar. With over 35 years of experience within the Shell Group, he combines deep industry knowledge with strategic leadership in the transition from fossil energy to sustainable solutions.
In addition to his executive responsibilities, De Jongh serves on several supervisory and advisory boards, including positions at NAM, GasTerra and NoordzeeWind.
