About the programme

This executive programme focuses on the development of new business models in a period of profound and disruptive change in the energy market. It is built around three core themes.

First, the programme explores how value propositions in energy markets are changing and how new value can be created. A strong consumer focus is considered essential for long-term competitiveness and success.
Second, it examines the evolving role of energy companies within the energy transition, with particular attention to innovation, strategy and leadership capabilities.
Third, it addresses the financial dimension of the energy transition, including global investment trends and the question of how the hundreds of billions of euros required for the transition can be mobilised and financed.

The programme consists of three modules delivered across two main periods.

Modules 1 and 2 take place in the first week. The programme starts with two days at Nyenrode Business University in Amsterdam. On Wednesday, the group travels by high-speed train from Amsterdam to Berlin. During the train journey, workshops and lectures will be held on the future of sustainable mobility. The programme then continues in Berlin with two days of lectures and site visits, including the Netherlands Embassy and the EUREF-Campus, a leading centre for energy innovation and sustainability.

Module 3 takes place approximately six weeks later in London. In the intervening period, participants will write a New Energy Essay, which they will present to the group during this final module. The London module includes lectures from academics and industry experts, as well as a day trip to Oxford. This includes an exciting visit to a UK project or facility.

Reviews 2

The training broadened my horizons and complemented my range of vision of energy developments. It was interesting to experience what are the new trends and what other countries are doing. New knowledge helps to do my job differently, to see new opportunities where I have not seen them before. The training changed my world and pointed out that the right choices in my daily work would help to make energetics significantly more environmentally friendly.

Great experience with New Energy Business School and this programme. Within Peterson and Control Union we find it of vital importance to learn and think about the future energy landscape and the continuous adaptable world we live in. It was a perfect fit to get a deep understanding of the geopolitical environment, financial considerations and leadership that is required to guide us through the Energy Transition. The lecturers and course director were renowned within the industry and inspiring to listen too. All in all, a great place to meet likeminded professionals and I can sincerely recommend this course to any future leaders of today.
