Lucia van GeunsStrategic Advisor Energy
Lucia van Geuns is an experienced energy professional who held research positions at the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) and the Clingendael International Energy Programme (CIEP) after a career with Royal Dutch Shell (1980- 2002). She has a background in geoscience, petroleum engineering, economics & planning. Her research focuses on international energy market developments, energy transition issues and climate change policies. In her present role, she is a frequent speaker on (international) energy markets for various public and private stakeholders. Ms. Van Geuns holds a Master’s degree in Earth Sciences from the University of Leiden. She was also president of the Royal Geological and Mining Society of the Netherlands (KNGMG) from 2013-2019.
Thijs Broekhuizen
Thijs Broekhuizen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Innovation Management & Strategy at the University of Groningen. He is also the scientific director of the University of Groningen Business School (UGBS).
Machiel Mulder
Machiel Mulder is a Professor in Energy Markets Regulation at the University of Groningen. He is the director of the Centre for Energy Economics Research (CEER) and the programme director of the EMBA Energy Transition.
Leon Stille
Leon Stille, General Manager of our Business School, has a background in Earth Sciences (BSc) and renewable energy technology (MSc) from the University of Utrecht. From the start of his career he has focused on conventional and renewable energy technology development and education. He has held commercial roles in several energy companies such as the Dutch gas grid operator Alliander and international oil & gas company Frames. Furthermore, he worked for Netherlands Organisation for applied scientific research (TNO) as business development manager dedicated to enabling and accelerating the energy transition. Leon holds two patents, is key lecturer renewable gas, expert speaker on energy transition topics and moderator of an energy series webinar.
